Privacy Policy — Horizon Tasks

Overview

Horizon Tasks is a general-purpose task management app built by Horizon Studios LLC. It helps you organize your work and life with projects, kanban boards, streaks, and collaboration features. We built Tasks with a privacy-first approach — your productivity data belongs to you.

Data Collection

Horizon Tasks collects only the data necessary to provide its core features. When you create an account, we store the following information in Firebase Firestore:

  • Tasks, projects, and notes you create
  • App preferences and theme selections
  • Shared project and contributor data
  • Authentication credentials (email address or linked sign-in provider)

We do not collect:

  • Your location
  • Your contacts
  • Device identifiers for advertising
  • Analytics or behavioral tracking data
  • Any data for the purpose of selling to third parties

Data Storage

Horizon Tasks requires an account for full functionality, including cloud sync and shared projects. Your data is stored in Firebase Firestore and synced across your iOS, Android, and web devices. Firebase servers are operated by Google and comply with industry-standard security practices. Some data may also be cached locally on your device for offline access.

Third-Party Services

Horizon Tasks uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication — for account creation and sign-in (email/password, Google Sign-In, and Apple Sign-In)
  • Firebase Firestore — for cloud data sync and real-time collaboration
  • Apple StoreKit — for processing premium subscription purchases on iOS
  • Stripe — for processing premium subscription purchases on the web

These services are used solely to provide app functionality. We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or tracking services.

Purchases

Horizon Tasks offers an optional premium subscription ($1.99/month) for additional themes and shared project features. On iOS, purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. On the web, purchases are processed through Stripe. We never see, collect, or store your payment information directly. Your subscription status is managed by the respective platform.

Children's Privacy

Horizon Tasks does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app is safe for all ages because it collects minimal personal data and contains no advertising, behavioral tracking, or social features directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through an account, please contact us at jeff@horiz.studio and we will promptly delete it.

Data Retention

Data cached locally on your device is removed when you delete the app. Your cloud data is retained in Firebase Firestore as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at jeff@horiz.studio. We will delete your data within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
